This is the easiest an most useful spreadsheet to calculate simple steel beam I came across. It will produce results in the same fashion as any hundreds of pounds more expensive software, the only difference being straight forward ease of use. A must for any structural calcs.​

I utilise this spreadsheet continually & I have never had any problems with Buiding Control with my calculation submissions. The drop down menu provides the opportunity to mix & match different scantlings for particular problems such as thick barn walls & low ceiling heights. The simplicity of the spreadsheet output aloso means one isnt submitting reams of data for Building Control submissions.

(Note: the Single-User spreadsheet will not run on Mac due to unsupported activation procedure)

To run the Company Licensed version you require either:

Technical Advice: If you have enabled macros and still cannot use the drop-down menu to change steel beam size then it is probably because of a faulty Windows Update. Solution HERE.
