Steel Beam Design Spreadsheet to AISC 360-10 (LRFD)
Available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac users.
Available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac users.
Essential spreadsheet for designing steel beams in accordance with American Standard AISC 360-10. Calculations are based on LRFD method (Load and Resistance Factor Design) which is more common nowadays in US than the, still sometimes used, ASD method (Allowable Stress Design). The spreadsheet, due to its form, easy input and clear output reduces time required for designing steel members. It includes lateral torsional buckling check therefore is a comprehensive and an important tool for structural engineers.
The spreadsheet has a large database of American steel sections. This spreadsheet was specially developed for Windows and Mac users.
- A clear and easy to read output (all on a single page);- Quick summary of utilization factors;
- Imperial units; - Change steel grade: A242, A36, A500, A501, A514, A529, A53, A572, A588, A618, A847, A852, A913; - Large database of American steel sections: W, M, S, C, MC; - Design for Lateral Torsional Buckling (LTB) based on effective length; - Loading options: UDL, 2x Partial UDL, 2x Point Load; - 'Live' Loading diagram; - Changeable safety factors; - Design is based on AISC 360-10: 2010; (Note: macros must be enabled for proper working of the spreadsheet. To run the Single-User Licensed version you require:
- Microsoft Windows Excel version 2007 and above; (Note: the Single-User spreadsheet will not run on Mac due to unsupported activation procedure) To run the Company Licensed version you require either: - Microsoft Windows Excel version 2007 and above; - Microsoft Mac Excel version 2004, 2011 and above. If unsure then see whether the FREE version works. Technical Advice: If you have enabled macros and still cannot use the drop-down menu to change steel beam size then it is probably because of a faulty Windows Update. Solution HERE. |
